We purchased our unit last December and so far are very happy with its performance.
This is so much easier than separating compostable food waste from the rest and lugging it through the back yard to the compost tumbler which is getting to be too much for me to turn, then having to store the rest of it until we make a trash trip.
Almost all of our food waste goes into the machine in the kitchen (including the wet cat food scraps that our spoiled felines leave in their dishes) and I think all my potted plants are going to love the addition of compost.

Have been using the MB compost generator for about a month now. I am very pleased with the product. I placed this right next to my kitchen trash can. As a habit, I chop my produce waste before I place it in the composter.
I find that this helps to speed the deterioration of the food bits. When I add food that I have cooked, ie. wasted leftovers, I do not further chop this food. I put it in as it comes out of the refrigerator.
I check the humidity by doing a quick visual check each time I add food.
So far, I have not had to dehydrate the device, but I have added water on a number of ocassions.
I have had no issues with odors from the device, if there is any odor at all, it is a mild, natural, humus smell. I add produce trimmings, peels, egg shells, coffee grounds, tea leaves, and waste food from the refrigerator.
I have generated about a cubic foot of compost so far, and it is pleasant looking and smelling.
I store this in a plastic bin, for use when the snow melts and we can start gardening.
